Dr. Maurizio Bonacini has trained in Internal Medicine at New York Hospital of Queens,
then an affiliate of New York University. He pursued a 2-year Gastroenterology specialization
Fellowship at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Hospital. To further
his interest in Liver diseases, he completed a 1-year Hepatology Fellowship at the USC Liver
Unit in Los Angeles County. He has three Board Certifications, in Internal Medicine,
Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology.

He has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters in Hepatology.
He lectures widely throughout California on the subject of hepatitis and liver fibrosis.
